Derby fixture chosen as Foundation matchday

City’s match against Derby County on Saturday 20 January will be an official Foundation matchday, with the charity showcasing their work in the community on the day around the LNER Stadium.

The Foundation will have individual stalls showcasing their sport and physical activity, healthier communities, and education and employability departments, with team members on hand to provide more context on the extensive work that they do across Lincolnshire.

Stalls will appeal to every supporter as the Foundation’s programmes aim to support people from all walks of life, ranging from 3 year olds to 106 year olds!

Fans are encouraged to ‘bring a pound to the ground’ to help raise much needed funds for the Foundation and their work, but all donations are welcome and can be given via our branded donation buckets around the LNER Stadium. Alternatively we will also be taking donations via card readers.

On the 3G pitch there will be four exciting sessions of football for fans to take part in. From 12.30-1pm there will be a PAN multi-sport session for City fans with disabilities to enjoy, following that from 1-1.30pm there will be a B1 blind football session.

At 1.30-2pm walking football takes centre stage before a women and girls session rounds off the 3G events from 2-2.30pm.

As well as information stalls, there will also be fun activities for fans to enjoy at all Foundation stations, along with a raffle for a signed Lincoln City home shirt.

These stalls will be dotted around at four different locations: Branston Legends Lounge, Poacher’s Den (GBM stand), the fanzone and the club shop.

The Poacher’s Pundits, a regular opportunity for young fans to commentate on games via our partner schools, will both be girls at the game to highlight that girls should be afforded the same opportunities as boys in football media, and have just as much of a right to provide opinions and analysis.

During the game, the Foundation will take to the pitch in a half-time parade made up of participants of Foundation programmes to highlight the impact and reach the charity has on the wider community.
