Lasse Sorensen is excited by the test City will face at Fratton Park on Saturday as they face league-leaders Portsmouth.
John Mousinho’s side sit top of Sky Bet League One after their opening eight matches, with both sides currently enjoying prolonged unbeaten runs in the league.
Lasse said: “It’s still early in the season so of course it’s very tight, but I think we have started really well.
“Of course Portsmouth have too and so it’s another League One game that’s going to be really tough, but they’re the matches you look forward to in a season; the ones in big grounds with big crowds.”
City come into the fixture following a midweek encounter at Pride Park in which a number of academy graduates earned their first City starts. The Dane is pleased with the performance and believes the squad are strong when it comes to offering advice to the younger players.
He added: “I think we performed well and played the game we like to play. For a few of our lads they earned their first starts, I think we did well as a group and we’re happy with that.
“We all help each other and we’re good as a whole squad for that. Some of the younger lads may not have as much senior experience but I think everyone helps each other through moments like that.”
