Supporters attending Tuesday night’s EFL Trophy match at Derby County will be invited to take part in a minute’s applause to celebrate the life of former Imps and Rams manager Colin Murphy.
Murphy, whose first managerial role was with the Rams, passed away peacefully on Saturday afternoon.
He was renowned for building one of the finest teams ever seen at Sincil Bank as he led the Imps to the Third Division in 1980/81, keeping City in the third tier and threatening promotion to the Second Division.
He also returned to the club after relegation from the Football League, with Murph’s Mission famously sealing a promotion back at the first time of asking.
City supporters who are not at Pride Park will also have an opportunity to pay their respects prior to next week’s Carabao Cup tie against West Ham United.
