Tom Shaw admired how the Imps responded to conceding an early goal in their 3-1 victory against Charlton Athletic.
Alfie May’s 10th minute opener put the Addicks ahead but goals from Hakeeb Adelakun and Sean Roughan saw the Imps stage a memorable comeback.
Shaw said: “I think in the first half we started well, and the goal was a speed bump, and we wanted to see a reaction from the group.
“The most pleasing thing of the whole night was that we passed our way out of that problem at 0-1.
“We showed confidence, and there was a bit of swagger about our three centre-halves, so I’ve got admiration for how the group went about their business after conceding.”
Shaw was also impressed with the contribution of Lasse Sorensen, who set Adelakun up for City’s second.
He added: “He’s a machine of a man, he’s a brilliant human, he’s the same every single day and he’s a pleasure to be around.
“He gives the supporters everything, so it was a sight to behold to see him march along on the right.”
