Mark Kennedy was delighted with Lasse Sorensen's contribution in City’s 2-0 victory over Cheltenham Town.
The Dane scored twice in the first half to seal the three points for the Imps against the struggling visitors.
Kennedy said: "I’m really pleased for Lasse Sorensen for a number of reasons.
"He’s an excellent player, and an incredible professional. I think his performances have warranted the goals.
"A huge difference compared to last year is that it was the front three scoring all the goals last year, but we’ve shared the numbers out really well this year."
Kennedy also felt the win was a big one for his side, with two difficult away trips awaiting them.
He added: "It emphasises for me the importance of the three points today.
"We will go into both games believing we can win them, but it’s important in league football that you win your home games and pick up points away from home, so today was huge for that."
