Hakeeb Adelakun praised the spirit City showed in their 3-1 victory over Charlton Athletic at the LNER Stadium.
Adelakun scored twice as the Imps fought back from Alfie May’s 10th minute opener to make it two victories in four days for Tom Shaw’s side.
Adelakun said: “The boys showed a lot of spirit, and we showed we can fight back in games, but to do it in this manner today was massive for us.
“There’ll be a big buzz around the training ground, and I’m just thankful that we got the job done.”
The forward was also thankful for the fans’ support as they got behind the Imps for the entire game.
He added: “The fans have been behind me; I’ve felt that from the first game I played this season.
“They’ve really pushed me on and I’m just happy I could pay them back with the goals and the win.”
