Michael Skubala hailed a special moment after claiming his first three points as head coach of Lincoln City.
Ethan Hamilton’s strike sealed a 1-0 win, prompting great celebrations with the Imps fans who had travelled down to the capital.
Skubala said: “It’s a really nice moment for myself and the lads, to get to celebrate with the fans who came down.
“It’s always special to get that first win, but mostly I’m proud of the lads for the work they put in. It’s them that go out and play the game and, to a man, they were immense.”
City took control of the match at Brisbane Road with an impressive second-half performance, and Skubala revealed he made tactical changes at the interval which paid off.
He added: “We tweaked a few things at the break to give us a bit more control, and we started to threaten as well. We matched them in the second half and it was a great goal from Ethan.
“We had to dig deep at times, but I tell the players to be a good team-mate and I’ve been really pleased with how they have responded.”
