Skubala excited for first City match

Michael Skubala is looking forward to his first game as head coach when City head to high-flying Stevenage on Saturday.

More than 800 fans are expected in Hertfordshire to back City and get their first glimpse of the new man in charge.

Skubala said: “It will be a proud moment when I step out to lead this team for the first time.

“I've seen first-hand the atmosphere our fans create, it's going to be one of the biggest challenges this group will face and I'm sure the supporters will get behind them."

Skubala was appointed head coach on Monday, taking charge of his first training session on Tuesday.

He said: "I can tell they are a good and honest group, there is some young talent that needs to be nurtured in order to flourish.

"There's also some older pros, though even those aren't that old, who will help us develop. It's a really good group."
