Michael Skubala is thankful to the City supporters who turned out in their numbers to back the team in his first game in charge.
Close to 900 travelling Imps made the trip down to the Lamex Stadium as the Imps fell to a narrow 1-0 defeat to play-off chasing Stevenage.
He said: “I love the fans already, I think they’re brilliant. We are going to be an exciting team that tries to win games as best we can in every moment.
“We had a couple of moments in the game where we probably should’ve done better in the final third.”
Skubala also saw signs of what his side have been working on during the first week in training but insists there’s still more work to be done in order to get to where he wants to be.
He added: “I think you could see the work we’ve done in training during the first half. I was pleased that we won a lot of second balls which we knew we would have to do.
“We want to turn that possession into being a really ruthless team in the final third because I thought we had them on the ropes at points.”
