Lasse Sorensen feels a great sense of pride after winning City’s Goal of the Season.
Sorensen’s spectacular strike from inside his own half during the Imps’ win at Wycombe Wanderers in April won the vote in the End of Season Awards.
He said: “It was quite funny as I initially had my back to the goalkeeper and Regan Poole urged me to turn around. When I did the ball came to me, I was quite lucky with the touch and then it went in.
“I have always said that I probably need to score a few more goals so I have been happy to do so.”
Sorensen is also happy he’s been able to contribute to a winning end to the 22/23 campaign while adapting to the different role he carried out throughout the second half of the season.
He added: “It has been different for me playing in a new position but it doesn’t really matter where I play because I am always trying to do as well as I can and it has been enjoyable.
“We are happy to finish with a win and it's a good way to end the season so that we can go home happy and be ready for the next campaign.”
