The club are highlighting the positive work carried out by Lincoln City Foundation as part of mental health awareness week.
The Foundation offers various forms of wellbeing support which ranges from Conversation Club classes, a Team Talk programme, and a variety of other activity sessions.
Team Talk is a mental health programme for people over the age of 16 which provides safe spaces alongside physical activity to break down the barriers that prevent people asking for help.
Alice Carter, head of healthier communities at Lincoln City Foundation, said: “Our Team Talk football sessions provide the benefits we all know there are from being physically active on our mood and wellbeing, but also knowing you are in a group of people who are friendly and supportive that you can connect with.”
The social hub takes place once a month in Poacher’s Den at the LNER Stadium where members of the community can come together for a chat and hot drink.
A new Extra Time Hub session has recently started in Skellingthorpe designed to support residents of the village to increase their social interaction and physical activity.
The Foundation also offer other activities which can be beneficial for people’s mental health, such as women’s and men’s walking football, wellbeing walks and stadium meet ups.
