City’s Lasse Sorensen says confidence is high ahead of Tuesday’s Sky Bet League One fixture against Cheltenham Town.
The Imps are unbeaten in nine matches and the Dane believes this has put the group in a strong position mentally.
He said: “The confidence within the group has been there for most of the season, but we’re definitely in a good place at the minute.
“We’ve been level-headed since the first match and we know we’re a good team, so the mood is good.”
The 23-year-old has had a run of games as a right wing back in recent matches and while the position change comes with challenges, he believes hard work and support from his team-mates and supporters are providing a huge boost.
He added: “Switching positions has been a bit of a challenge but challenges are fun.
“While there are differences compared to my normal position in midfield, I also think there are a lot of similarities playing wing-back, it’s like a box-to-box midfielder.
“Thankfully I’ve played next to the likes of Regan Poole and Lewis Montsma who have given me hints and tips.
"I’ve also heard the crowd singing my name which I really appreciate because that makes a huge impact and it’s good to know they like me, because I like them!”
