City’s Lewis Montsma is back in selection contention and says he has pushed himself hard in training whilst he served his ban.
The defender says he owes his hard work to team-mates, coaches and supporters while he has been ruled out of action.
He said: “It’s a mistake I have learned from and one where I chose to take a positive view in that I could get some rest after some tough fixtures.
“I have been training hard because I owe that to everyone and myself, but I’m ready to play again now and I can’t wait.
"I’ve worked hard for the opportunity and I’m looking forward to the busy schedule we have coming up.”
Should he return to the side, Montsma will make his fourth appearance for the Imps under Mark Kennedy – a head coach who provided plenty of positivity for the Dutchman throughout his rehabilitation.
Montsma added: “He’s been very positive to me and the whole team.
“I wasn’t really part of the group when he came in because I was doing my own thing with the physios, but he has always been very positive and backed me when I was injured, giving me time and trust. I can’t ask for more than that.”
