Thanks to further investment from the club’s board and investors, safe standing will be in place at the LNER Stadium for the 2023/24 season following the installation of new barriers in GBM Block Upper 7.
By prioritising safety alongside improving the matchday experience, fans who purchase tickets in this block should be expecting to stand for the duration of the game.
This change comes after 18 months of study and research as well as close fan engagement, and it marks an exciting new chapter for the club and supporters.
Director of operations Damian Froggatt said: "For supporters using this new safe standing section, we hope it will improve both their safety and enjoyment. We ask everyone to be patient as new ticket check systems will be in place to safely manage access into this block. We’d also like to remind supporters that standing is not permitted in any other section of the stadium.
We’ll also be introducing a new management system to hopefully assist with the free flow of supporters who use the concourse at the front of the GBM Stand, particularly in the Family Corner between GBM Block 1 and the Rilmac Stand."
"This is a further step forward as part of the club’s plans to keep improving the experience and safety of everyone.”
