Danny Mandroiu is satisfied with the start he has made to the pre-season schedule.
The Irishman netted two goals in City’s 7-0 win at Boston United on Saturday afternoon, which is form he is keen to take into the 23/24 campaign.
He said: “I am feeling really good at the minute but I am not fully there yet because we’re only three weeks in. It is good to start back with the lads and I feel like this season will be a good one.
“Hopefully when the games start coming we’ll be all ready and fit as you can be. We have had over a month off so we have had our break. It’s time to get going and get focussed on the games.”
Mandroiu also spoke about how the relationships which are being formed have helped with the positive passages of play on the pitch, including for his second goal at Boston.
He continued: “It was a good bit of play. We won the ball back and countered them. Lasse Sorensen is always on the overlap and luckily enough he cut it back for me and I passed it into the goal.
“We know the system inside out and we know when to press forward and sit back. With the additions we have brought in, they’re very athletic so they will fit right in and you have seen glimpses of what they can do.”
