Ted Bishop was pleased to step up his 2023/24 preparations with 60 minutes of action and two goals in City’s 3-1 win against Harrogate Town.
A young Imps took on the Yorkshire side at the BMW Soper of Lincoln Elite Performance Centre as part of the 23/24 season preparations, with Bishop netting two and Reeco Hackett adding a third late on.
Bishop said: “It was good to get another 60 minutes and I’m ready to go now. Pre-season is about getting as fit as you can.
“We just need to keep building that up. We’ve got three games left now, I need to get as many minutes as I can and then be ready for the first game of the season.”
Bishop also believes the two goals he scored should help build positive habits heading into the new campaign - which begins with a trip to Bolton Wanderers on Saturday 5 August.
He continued: “It’s nice to pick up those good habits and I want to score more goals this year. To get the two goals against Harrogate is a good start for me.”
“It was a good test for us and it was important that most players got the minutes into the legs as we’re going to need the whole squad.”
