City forward Jack Diamond was delighted by the character shown by his team-mates as they collected their first point of 2023.
City were made to play with 10 men for the second half but dug in to earn a hard-fought share of the spoils against a high-flying Ipswich Town side.
Diamond said: “When we have a man sent off it isn’t easy, but all the lads know what we’re capable of and we managed to stick together and do the hard bits.
“We knew we’d get a chance and that shows a lot about us as a group to then go on and take it. We back ourselves in a battle at all times and everyone did their job.”
The draw means no team has managed to leave Lincolnshire with maximum points in the league all season, and the 22 year-old is hoping this can give the side the foundations to kick-on in 2023.
He added: “We knew coming into the game it was going to be a tough match but our record against the top teams has been great all season, so we came into it with a lot of confidence.
“We’re still unbeaten at home in the league which is a good run that brings the team confidence and it’s good to take that into the new year. If we can keep building on that then we’ll only keep improving over the rest of the season.”
