Jack Diamond is delighted to be staying at City for the rest of the season to continue his development.
The 23-year-old joined the Imps on loan from Sunderland in the summer and has already netted eight times in 24 appearances in all competitions.
He said: “It is better to have clarity in where I will be playing for the remainder of the season. I can now push on and focus on my time here.
“I think it is important for everyone knowing what we have moving forward and that I am still going to be a part of the group.
“I want to keep playing games here and I think it is a good decision for me to stay.”
Following last weekend’s postponement Diamond expressed his excitement for the upcoming fixtures and to be back amongst the action, starting with the visit of Cambridge United.
He added: “It is good to be training but everyone wants to be playing games and I think it is going to be fun to be involved in the busy schedule.
“We had a difficult time playing against Cambridge last time so we should not underestimate them at all.
“With the extra week of training, we are going into the game with real clarity of what we need to do.”
