City have beaten a host of other clubs to secure highly-rated forward Luke Plange on loan from Premier League side Crystal Palace.
The 20-year-old, who will remain with the Imps until the end of the season, cannot wait to pull on City’s No.9 shirt and says he is ready to hit the ground running.
He said: “It’s always an honour to put on the No.9 shirt and I can’t wait to get going.
“I’ve met the lads already and I’m ready to get straight into training and start preparing for the first game. I feel good and I’m ready to get started.”
Plange came through the ranks at Arsenal before joining Derby County where impressive performances after his debut in December 2021 earned him a move to the top flight with Palace.
He spent the remainder of the 21-22 season on loan with the Rams, and for the opening half of this campaign has been with Belgian side RWD Molenbeek before Palace recalled him ahead of his move to Lincolnshire. He scored four goals in 19 starts for Derby in the Sky Bet Championship.
He added: “I’ve seen a lot of young players progress at this club and I want to do as well as I can back in English football now.
“I’m a versatile forward who likes to run behind a lot, but I can also come in for the ball to feet. I can finish with my left or right foot, or with my head.”
