A precautionary pitch inspection will be carried out at the LNER Stadium on Saturday morning ahead of the scheduled Sky Bet League One game against Burton Albion.
City are taking steps to protect the playing surface and frost covers have been in place since the start of the week which have helped protect the pitch against freezing temperatures.
An EFL official carried out an inspection at 3pm on Friday afternoon and confirmed the pitch was playable.
Frost covers remain on the pitch, with lighting rigs positioned on the areas which receive the least sunlight. The covers protect the pitch up to -3 degrees and club officials are optimistic that the game will take place as planned.
An inspection is planned to take place at 9.45am, prior to the scheduled departure time of Burton Albion's first-team squad, with City providing an update for supporters after this.
