Mark Kennedy is delighted with Lewis Montsma’s return to action.
The Dutch defender had been sidelined since the beginning of last year and marked his comeback with a clean sheet and three points at Accrington Stanley on Saturday.
Kennedy said: “Lewis is an outstanding player. For him to come back after being out for so long and put in a performance like that was phenomenal.
“Although we believe in him, care about him and think he is an outstanding talent, you just don’t know how he’ll get on as Accrington away is a tough place. He was really impressive for us.”
Kennedy was also pleased by the way his side executed the game plan, and heavily praised City debutant Ethan Erhahon who picked up the Man of the Match award.
He added: “In and out of possession was excellent and it was a day where everything clicked for us. We had a clear game plan and we carried it out well.
“Ethan was excellent for us and his ability on the ball is very good, as well as his game understanding. I think something that really helps is his balance because he’s left footed.”
