Sean Roughan is pleased to have returned to City’s matchday squad after spending some time on the sidelines due to injury.
The Irishman had been sidelined due to an injury but made a return to the pitch in the Imps' goalless draw against Wigan Athletic on Saturday.
He said: “To come back and pick up an injury in training was a bit frustrating, but these things happen in football.
“You just have to keep going, and be as fit as you can when you come back and impress the head coach then.
"I’ve been grinding in training to make myself better, as well as pushing the team as that’ll help them improve too.”
The Imps travel to Accrington Stanley in the Bristol Street Motors Trophy on Tuesday night, and Roughan is hopeful that City can have a good run in the competition.
He added: “As a group we want to get to Wembley and that’s what we are striving for.
“We will take it game by game and give our all in every match that we have in the competition.”
