Ethan Erhahon and his City team-mates will be working hard to return to winning ways quickly.
The Imps return to league action on Saturday against Reading and the midfielder has stated the side will approach the fixture with plenty of positivity.
He said: “We would have liked to have gone further in the Bristol Street Motors Trophy but we are now fully focused on the league and we’re sitting in a good position.
“We don’t want to look back, we want to look forward. We’ll go into training on Thursday with positive mindsets and keep looking to push on in the league.”
City face three former Premier League sides in their upcoming matches and the Scot is excited by the test they will provide.
He added: “We are playing in the third tier of English football and we’re heading to teams like Derby County who are getting crowds of 20,000 – it’s some serious atmospheres. It was the same last year with the likes of Plymouth Argyle and Sheffield Wednesday.
“There's been loads of big teams in this league for a while and as a player, they’re the ones you look forward to. We will relish it and are looking forward to it.”
