Mark Kennedy was pleased with the impact of his substitutions as City beat Wycombe Wanderers 3-0 in the Imps’ first league win of the season.
Three goals in the final 22 minutes saw City record a comfortable win over the Chairboys, which followed up a comfortable 2-0 victory against Notts County on Tuesday.
He said: “We want to win games, particularly at home, so we probably caught a few people by surprise, but I was just like, bang, bang, bang, you’re all coming on. It worked, sometimes it doesn’t work, but it worked on this occasion.”
Kennedy also stressed the importance of humility, however, with a gruelling schedule ahead.
He added: “It was nice to get a win, and it was really nice to get a performance. When you see it on the training ground it’s good, but it’s even better when it comes off.
“We have to remember we’re two games into a long, long season, and we talked about staying grounded, and staying humble, and we think we’ve got an incredibly tough game on Tuesday.”
