Mark Kennedy is pleased to have bolstered his squad with towering defender Alex Mitchell on loan from Millwall.
The Imps confirmed the signing of the 6ft 3ins centre half on a season-long loan from the Lions on Thursday, with Kennedy keen to get down to work with his latest addition.
Kennedy said: “I’m very pleased to get Alex Mitchell in. It was a very difficult deal to get over the line but we’ve got ourselves another good player.”
“There are things he can help us with and things we can help him with, and that’s what loans are for.”
Kennedy also understands the challenges his side will face when visiting Shrewsbury Town on Saturday and believes his side will have to be at their best to gain maximum points.
He added: “Shrewsbury are a good side and they’ve had a good start to the season.
“If we aren’t on top of our game, then we’ll have ourselves a really tough game, but if we are at our best, we have a great chance of winning.”
