With City chasing their fourth consecutive win on Tuesday evening, Mark Kennedy believes the club are in a good place.
Michael Duff’s Barnsley are next up on the fixture list and City’s head coach is expecting another tough encounter.
Kennedy said: “Barnsley are an excellent side and Michael Duff has been exceptional, he is a really high-level manager. I have been to many games throughout the season watching our next opponent, and they always seem to be playing against Barnsley, so it is a side I have seen a lot of!
“We have had two good results against them season, we’re playing well and have a fantastic home record so the club is in a good spot and it’s a game we’re looking forward to.”
With five games remaining this season, the Irishman has re-emphasised the relentless mindset within the group to finish the campaign as strong as possible.
He added: “I want to maximise myself, the team and the club and I wouldn’t understand anybody in any walk of life who doesn’t want to be the best version of themselves.
“The minute we look past the next game we will be in big trouble. We cannot take our eye off the ball or foot off the gas, and I think that has served us well this year and is something we will continue to do.”
