Mark Kennedy is proud of the steely performance his side displayed to earn a battling point at Sheffield Wednesday.
The Imps came from behind to earn a share of the spoils at Hillsborough on Saturday afternoon thanks to Danny Mandroiu’s leveller and some resolute defending late on.
He said: “I am really proud of the players. They are an incredible group to work with and I have said that many times this year.
“Before the game I said to them it’s eleven men against eleven men, and that we have to show the fans the size of our hearts in the performance - I thought that was really evident.
“I have been in football for 30 years and being stood in the box in front of the fans after the game was one of the best experiences I have ever had in the game.”
Adam Jackson helped the Imps see out the draw with a superb goalline clearance in the closing stages and the head coach was keen to praise the defender for his shift against the Owls.
He added: “I thought the players’ effort deserved at least a point. I think Adam Jackson has arguably been our best player this year and the league is heavily suited to him.
“He is a good footballer and doesn’t get enough credit for that. I have been so impressed with Adam and I am really pleased for him.”
