City defender, Paudie O’Connor, admits he is enjoying the recent switch of formation which has seen the Irishman deployed as one of three central defenders.
The change has since seen the Imps take four points from fixtures against Ipswich and Sheffield Wednesday, extending City’s unbeaten run at the LNER Stadium since the start of the season.
O’Connor said: “We have picked up a good few points since making the switch and we have been more defensively solid and not shipped as many goals. We have gotten stronger in each game and it’s been enjoyable.
“We’ve managed to stay in games that some people outside of the club maybe did not think was possible, but we’re confident it has worked out well.”
As the Imps continue their tough run of fixtures, City travel to Oakwell on Tuesday night as they face Barnsley in Sky Bet League One action.
The defender admits he and his teammates will be targeting another three points as they aim to continue the positive form.
He added: “We look at each game and knowing the run of fixtures we had, we knew it wouild be difficult and we had to be more solid, and that has given us the foundation to build on games.
“We’re well capable with the talent that is in the group to go and win games. The next few we’ll be targeting wins to get points on the board.”
