Lincoln City Foundation’s Fighting Fit programme has been shortlisted for the Health and Wellbeing award at the Lincolnshire Sport & Physical Activity Awards hosted by Active Lincolnshire.
The award highlights significant achievements in using physical activity to promote physical and mental health and wellbeing.
Fighting Fit is a physical activity programme designed to support people living with or recovering from cancer in the county.
Alice Carter, head of healthier communities at the Foundation said: “We are really proud to see Fighting Fit shortlisted for this award.
“Since launching the programme we have been able to support many individuals from across Lincolnshire living with cancer to build back physical strength and confidence, connect with people with shared experiences, gain peer to peer support, and enhance their mental wellbeing.
“We are also thankful to a number of partners who have helped shape and grow Fighting Fit including the NHS Integrated Care Board.”
The award ceremony will take place on Thursday 3 November.
