Mark Kennedy is proud to be making his Emirates FA Cup debut as a head coach.
Kennedy will lead his side to Chippenham Town in the first round proper on Saturday and has said that it will be a special moment in his footballing career.
He said: “The FA Cup is an amazing competition. Growing up watching the FA Cup was one of the key moments of your footballing calendar. I can remember the 1986 cup final like it was yesterday.
“To play in it and to now be a coach in it is a really proud moment for me. I am really looking forward to it.”
Kennedy has also made it clear that there is a real unity between the group and that they will be approaching the cup tie like any other fixture.
He added: “One thing I really like about the group is how balanced we are as a collective unit, including staff and the players.
“I am super confident that the approach will be like any other game. You have to give the opponent the utmost respect because they are in the same round that we are on merit.
“The cup competitions is something that the club are very proud of and is something we want to take very seriously. I think we have shown that this year by how we have approached them.”
