The Imps have extended their partnership with optical specialists David Burghardt Vision Care to be the club’s official eye care provider.
The multi-award winning practice based in Nettleham have provided advice and assistance to the club for a number of years.
Clinical director David Burghardt said: “It’s an honour to continue our partnership with LCFC and their medical team to ensure players enjoy optimal visual performance and eye health.
“The practice team at our state-of-the-eye ophthalmic facility in Nettleham are excited to support the Imps for another year. We hope to be able to make a small but important contribution towards a successful campaign this season.”
This year all the players are being checked for colour vision deficiencies as part of a visual screening to identify and manage their needs. Colour vision has recently been highlighted by the English Football League as an important consideration not only for players but for spectators and officials too.
Andrew Whitham, Imps’ director of commercial affairs, added: “We are pleased to have the team at David Burghardt onboard for another season. They have shown great professionalism and flexibility with us over the years.
“We take colour blindness seriously and we are selective with our kit to avoid kit clashes for all visual impairments. Football should be inclusive for all participants and fans at all levels.”
