Imps duo Sean Roughan and Sam Long have returned to the club ahead of pre-season following their successful loan spells at Drogheda United.
During their time in Ireland, both Sean and Sam gained many plaudits, recognised by both players receiving nominations for the SSE Airtricity Player of the Month award for March and May respectively.
Sean made 15 appearances for the Drogs and was a versatile figure across their backline, featuring at left-back and more regularly, centre-back.
He said: “I’ve loved every second playing for Drogheda. I can’t thank the fans, players, coaching staff and back-room staff enough.
“I wish everyone involved in the club the best for the future and the rest of the season.”
Sam also made 15 appearances for Drogheda, registering three clean sheets including a standout man of the match performance against runaway league leaders, Shamrock Rovers.
Sam added: “My time with the team has been great. The staff have been amazing with me, helping me to grow as a player and as a person.
“I’d like to thank the club for the trust they put in me which allowed me to grow into my role and show what I can do.”
Welcome back to the Imps, lads. We look forward to seeing you again soon!
