City midfielder Lasse Sorensen has spoken about his excitement surrounding the start of the 2022/23 campaign as the Imps close in on their season opener against Exeter City next weekend.
The 21-year-old Dane played his first full 90 minutes of pre-season as the Imps took on Sky Bet Championship outfit Blackburn Rovers on Saturday afternoon.
He said: “Pre-season has been really enjoyable, but it has been tough, as it should be. I think we have implemented what we have needed to do and there has been a lot of learning.
“The whole set up is different and it has been a fresh start, but we need to continue to improve and show what you can do to the new people in the building.”
With the start of the 2022/23 season just a week away, Sorensen expressed his excitement to get back into competitive fixtures once again.
He added: “You always look forward to the first game. I am not really setting myself targets for the season but you have just got to do as well as you can each day.
“We have got a good squad which is what you should have. You need to keep on your toes to stay in the team and that is what football is all about.”
