Mark Kennedy wants to hit the ground running in the week building up to the Imps’ first fixture of the 2022/23 season against Exeter City on Saturday.
City fought closely with Sky Bet Championship side Blackburn Rovers in Saturday's friendly at the LNER Stadium, with Kennedy expressing his satisfaction for what he has seen from his players so far.
He said: “Overall we are pleased with our pre-season, we have seen some things implemented in friendlies that we have worked on in training.
“You have to have a balance and an understanding that it takes time to build things, but I am really confident that we will get there.”
The Imps’ head coach is now looking ahead to next weekend’s season opener and wants everyone’s focus to be on the week in training.
He added: “We will be looking to attack the week in training really aggressively with the purpose of getting three points against Exeter.”
