Girls in Lincolnshire will have more opportunities than ever to develop their footballing talent with confirmation Lincoln City Foundation will run an Emerging Talent Centre from the 2022/23 season.
The three-year licence from the Football Association allows girls aged from eight to 16 to receive regular structured coaching sessions, and a pathway right up to the first-team at Lincoln City Women.
The new structure will sustain the future of the female pathway in Lincolnshire, and provide a wider and more diverse talent pool for the game.
Amy Kay, women’s pathway leader at the Foundation and captain of Lincoln City Women, said: “This is the result of two years of hard work from everyone here at the club.
“We started our girls pathway with a development centre and a handful of regular players. We now go into the new season with a pathway licence and nearing 100 young female players excited for the future.
“I am so proud to be able to share this with you all and to take you on this journey with us.”
