Tom Hopper is raring to go ahead of the new season, and cannot wait for Saturday’s opening game against Exeter.
Having been named Imps captain for the 22/23 campaign, Hopper is ready to take on the captains armband.
“It’s a huge honour to be asked. It’s something I can’t wait to do, but I don’t think it will change my role massively in the group.
“I’m going to go about my business in the same manner. It will be a huge honour to lead the lads out,” he added.
Hopper is well aware of the atmosphere and the impact it has on results, and particularly how loud the fans will be on Saturday following the break.
He said: “We know how important the fans are, I’ve said it so many times how loud the atmosphere is that they create. So if we can give them something to cheer about, it’s only going to help.”
