City have completed the permanent signing of attacking midfielder Danny Mandroiu from Shamrock Rovers, subject to international clearance.
The 23-year-old Irishman has been capped by his national side at U16, U19 and U21 level and is currently knocking on the door for a full international cap in Stephen Kenny’s side having been called up to the squad last year.
Having spent his youth career at Brighton & Hove Albion, the attacking midfielder signed for Bohemians in 2019 scoring 14 goals in 37 league games. This form captured the eye of Shamrock Rovers who signed him in 2021 where he played a pivotal role in helping them win the League of Ireland.
He scored a total of 22 goals in 53 league games from midfield for Shamrock Rovers and has also featured in European competitions for the Irish champions.
Mandroiu will join up with his City team-mates next week following the club’s pre-season training camp in Hungary.
