TJ Eyoma believes that the squad’s hard work is paying off after a strong start to 2022.
The defender thinks that the team has clicked and things are beginning to come together, with six points from the opening three games of the calendar year.
He said: “It’s been a case of us working hard in the training ground everyday and it’s come together. Everyone’s seeing the hard work that we are putting in.
“I think we’re gelling slowly but surely, and it’s coming together now."
The defender feels the Imps played well on Saturday despite a frustrating loss to Cambridge, and said the team need to put the result behind them and focus on Tuesday night’s difficult tie at Rotherham United.
He added: “It was disappointing to lose the game but I thought we could take a lot of positives. First half we played very well but couldn't quite finish our chances, but second half it was an unfortunate set piece for us to lose later on.
“We’ve just got to brush off the loss on Saturday and go again Tuesday because it’s going to be a tough game.
“I feel like the whole team has got to be competitive and aggressive because we know Rotherham and what they’re like and their style of play. We’ve got to compete first and let the football do the talking.”
