The appointment of Foundation chairman Sunil Hinocha to the Imps board of directors signifies the latest stage of the Lincoln City Family working together more effectively to create success on and off the pitch.
The Lincoln City Family - made up of Lincoln City Football Club, Foundation, Women and Academy - is made up of linked organisations striving to work better together with an increased focus on the partnership to drive better results across Lincolnshire.
Recently we revealed a record number of player visits across community programmes over a six-week period, which are set to continue across this season and beyond. Players are keen to take an active role in the community, championing the causes that help local residents throughout the county.
City partnered with Her Game Too to promote the female game across all channels. Showcasing Lincoln City Women and Lincoln City Foundation’s Girls Academy at the Accrington Stanley game last month, aiming to inspire girls into sport and champion Lincoln City Women on their current Women’s FA Cup campaign.
Martin Hickerton, chief executive of the Foundation, said: “We are delighted to be working more closely with the whole Lincoln City Family. Together we are stronger and have the opportunity to drive real impact into our community, both on and off the pitch.
“Lincoln City have a proud history of a family-friendly community-led club, we are proud to be able to build upon that legacy over the next few years.”
Liam Scully, chief executive of Lincoln City Football Club, added: “A core philosophy of the club is a close and ongoing relationship with our fans and wider community - everyone from the owners down are passionate about this.
“I am sure supporters will have already noticed our attempts for each strand of the club to work in partnership, but as well the high-profile initiatives like promoting the women’s team at a dedicated fixture we have synergies every day such as the Foundation classrooms becoming a media suite on matchdays.
“While this has been going on behind the scenes for some time, we’ve not always been good at letting the outside world know about it - which is why I’m pleased the communication teams from across the Lincoln City Family are committed to work together to tell all our amazing stories in the most appropriate ways. I can’t wait to read and watch their work.”
Looking ahead, supporters can expect to see more joined up working from each strand of the club as they collaborate to celebrate success, drive change and create impact as one Lincoln City.
