First defeat in seven for the Under 18’s

After a three week break from league action, Ash Foyle’s young side travelled to Grimsby in hope of continuing their fantastic league form.

Despite goals from Mekhi Angol and Kyrell Wheatley, the Imps suffered defeat away from home.

Academy manager Jordan McCann said: “It’s a hard one for us to assess today. With several Under 14 and Under 15 players involved, we knew a positive result would be hard to come by.

"That said, we have high standards here, and the manner in which we conceded two of the goals is disappointing."

The vast majority of our second years are now out on work experience loans so there will be plenty of learning opportunities for our younger players over the forthcoming weeks in youth team games.”

If you would like to support the development of the Imps academy, you can do so through the Imps Lottery for just £1 a week.
