Lincoln City manager Michael Appleton said his side performed well at times at MK Dons and felt his side were unfortunate to leave Stadium MK without at least a point for their efforts.
The Imps narrowly missed out on leaving Buckinghamshire with points added to the table after taking the lead in the first half.
The boss said: “I feel hard done by because I felt we were more than comfortable and deserved at least a point.
“I thought we played alright, but ultimately the two goals we conceded were not good enough. Apart from that, I was reasonably pleased with the performance, I thought we moved the ball quite well, and we had numerous opportunities.”
Ahead of three upcoming home games in eight days, the boss felt there were several strong performances within his side which he is hoping will carry over into the Morecambe fixture and beyond.
He added: “I was delighted with John Marquis and have been since he came in. Hopefully his goalscoring will continue but other players do start having to come to the party in terms of goals.
“I thought Chris Maguire was excellent when he came on and looked like he could open up the opposition with that one pass we missed; and Lewis Fiorini too was excellent with his receiving of the ball and sliding in players.
“Max Sanders came on and was fine. Anything around 30 or 40 yards he has got the ability to hurt teams, and if we have willing runners to get in behind then he will influence the game. He will get his opportunity between now and the end of the season and I am sure that when he does, he will take it."
