Carl Rushworth believes variety will be important if his side are to have success on Saturday.
The Imps have shown versatility to switch formations and personnel throughout the season so far, and the City goalkeeper believes this will be a key trait this weekend against Wycombe Wanderers.
He said: “We will need a lot of organisation this weekend. I think we all want to play out, but it’s a matter of risk versus reward.
“It’s pointless playing out from the back in some situations, and so it is important to mix the game up and make sure you have good variety.
"You can become very predictable if you play out every time and teams can set traps against you, so variety is massive on gamedays.”
With the 21-year-old experiencing his second loan spell away from Premier League side Brighton and Hove Albion, Rushworth has enjoyed his time at the Imps with his family also buying into the club.
He added: “The family love it, and they have all got a shirt too. My dad will be down at the stadium again on Saturday. As my family are an hour and a half away from home, they get here whenever they can.
“I have really enjoyed my time here so far. I think because we have a young team, we all fit in well. I feel as though I have improved, particularly my game management.
"I am getting the experiences in and the more of those I have, the better I will become.”
