Ash Foyle insists his team uses Saturday’s draw as a learning experience ahead of some important cup fixtures.
Goals from Julian Donnery, Russell Berko and Theo Mussell earned a 3-3 draw in the league at Mansfield during the weekend, and Foyle understands that there is still more to come from his side.
He said: “We were nowhere near our best and looked a little flat. There were too many turnovers and we conceded some poor goals.
“The lads did show good character to come back from 3-1 down and could have won it at the end.”
Foyle did praise the way his side fought until the end to rescue a point from the game and is hoping to use this as a platform to build on ahead of some big fixtures.
He added: The lads know that it was a below par performance from the standard they have set themselves. They will need to rectify that with some important cup games coming up.
“However, to get something out of the game from 3-1 down and almost snatch it at the end shows some good traits that successful teams have.”
