Mark Kennedy has hailed the medical department at the club for their hard work in ensuring he has as much of his squad at his disposal during a hectic fixture schedule.
City’s head coach arrived in the summer alongside a new-look medical team and has expressed his delight for the work they contribute to his side.
He said: “As a group we’ve changed a lot, but undoubtedly the biggest plus is the people who have come in. There is a completely new medical team in the building and we have all bought into each other and are massively aligned on what hard work looks like.
“One thing that was clear when I came into the club was the injury record and how poor it had been, and now our biggest problem at the minute is we have too many players! We’re constantly modifying things to work with that, but it’s certainly a huge plus – we’d rather have too many players than not enough.”
City’s next challenge on the fixture list sees them travel to the Pirelli Stadium on Boxing Day as they face Burton Albion.
Kennedy believes the Brewers’ league position is deceptive and is expecting a test comparable in difficulty to the Imps’ most recent outing to St Mary’s Stadium on Tuesday night.
He added: “I said after the Southampton match that I’d expect the Boxing Day game to be just as difficult.
“The league is what it is, anybody can beat anyone, but Burton are a particularly hard-working group and score a lot of goals, even late in the game. You can tell by how organised they are that they are coached well.”
