Mark Kennedy expects his players to bounce back with a positive performance against Bolton Wanderers.
The Imps fell to defeat at Burton Albion on Boxing Day, and Kennedy knows that his side have more to give as they look to return to winning ways on Friday evening.
He said: “I want to stay balanced on what I have seen so far this season, which tends to be evidence of what you are doing or where you are going.
“One game will not define us. We are not happy with the performance but there will be a reaction.
“We are a close group and I am already looking forward to Friday because there needs to be a reaction and there will be a reaction. I think our players have proven that every time this year.”
City grew into the second half and went close to pulling a goal back with a few late chances, and Kennedy has commended that the City supporters continued to support the team throughout the match.
He added: “It was incredible. Even after the game when we went to the fans, the connection between the group was there to see.
“On the whole, I thought the response from everybody after the game was fantastic. It is another example of what we have here at the club.”
