Mark Kennedy is confident with the players he has to choose from as City aim for Papa Johns Trophy progression.
The Imps host Everton U21 in the round of 16 and Kennedy is pleased with the strength in depth at his disposal.
He said: “I will never pick a team that I believe can’t win a game of football. I also would not pick a team to give someone time in a situation like this.
“We will be choosing a team that we feel will be capable of winning the match. When we do have a few players out, we have a fantastic pool to pick from.”
Having previously coached in academy football, Kennedy understands the challenges that the young Toffees may pose his side at the LNER Stadium.
He added: “When I look at Everton U21, I think they are a very good footballing side. I believe that they have a lovely balance of what good football looks like, whilst still being real football.
“I think it will be a really tough game. If you allow them time to play, they will show you how good they are. They have quick technical players which all academies want.”
