Adam Jackson is looking forward to testing himself against Premier League opposition on Tuesday night.
The Imps will face Southampton at St Mary’s Stadium in the fourth round of the competition after wins at Doncaster Rovers, Barrow and Bristol City.
He said: “I think we are all just looking forward to it. It is a chance to show what we have got against a Premier League side. It will be a beautiful pitch in a class stadium.
“It will be tough and different to what we are used to. I think they will be a bit sharper, technically better and more clever. We have got to hope the defensive line are switched on at all times.
Jackson is also taking confidence from City’s progression in the competition and has applauded the supporters who are set to make the long journey to Hampshire.
He continued: “I think we have got to go there knowing we have beaten Bristol City who are the division above.
“In our league you look at teams at the top who have some Championship standard players, who we have beaten.
“If we can do it against those teams, then it shows that we are more than capable of doing it against anyone.
“It is unbelievable to take 1,500 fans all that way for a midweek fixture. Hopefully they sing their hearts out all game and we can make them proud by getting a positive result.”
City will be playing in their black away strip on Tuesday night - you can purchase a replica shirt HERE.
