City have joined forces with San Diego Loyal SC in a partnership which will see the two clubs collaborate on community initiatives, merchandise and content.
SD Loyal co-owner and executive vice president of soccer operations Landon Donovan has served as a Strategic Advisor to Lincoln City since 2021.
He said: “Lincoln City is a historic club deeply rooted in English football. This collaboration will serve as a launching pad for the clubs to work together in meaningful ways, on and off the field.”
City chairman Clive Nates added: “We are really excited to team up with San Diego Loyal SC and look forward to working closely with them as part of this new partnership.
“We have a great relationship with San Diego Loyal and San Diego Padres through Landon Donovan and Harvey Jabara, who are both well-respected members of the Lincoln City family.
“We would love to grow our international fanbase over in the USA and believe that working with San Diego Loyal will help us achieve this.”
To celebrate the partnership, City have launched a competition in which one lucky supporter will win a Landon Donovan signed football and a squad-signed Imps third shirt.
San Diego Loyal SC are a men’s professional football team that competes in the USL Championship, the fastest-growing professional football league in the world.
In their third season in 2022, San Diego Loyal SC saw record crowds at Torero Stadium and secured a second consecutive play-off spot.
The club are led by chairman Andrew Vassiliadis, the youngest principal owner in the USL Championship. Landon Donovan, one of the most decorated football players in the USA, leads the technical side as executive vice president of soccer operations and veteran soccer executive, Ricardo Campos, serves as club president.
