Mark Kennedy is pleased with the work his side have done on the training pitch in the build up to a busy month of fixtures.
The Imps are set to play seven fixtures in December and Kennedy has stressed the importance of consistency if his side are going to have a positive run of results.
He said: “We have been doing a continuation of what we always do and that has been good. It has been nice to have some time without a game in between.
“It has been important for us and has given us the opportunity to have some more time on the grass.
“We had an in-house game last week where we got match officials in and did it properly. We tried to make it as real as we could.”
City return to Sky Bet League One action at Shrewsbury Town and Kennedy is well-aware of the threats that Saturday’s hosts could pose to his team.
He added: “Everybody is capable of beating everybody. Shrewsbury are a big, strong, powerful team and have good individuals.
“They have an outstanding manager in Steve Cotterill who has had multiple promotions, and has a huge reputation in football. From that regard, we are expecting a tough game.
“We will go there with the intention of getting three points and have no fear about playing against anybody in the league.”
