City are taking precautions to protect the pitch ahead of Saturday’s Sky Bet League One fixture against Wycombe Wanderers.
Frost covers have been in place since Wednesday which have protected the pitch against temperatures which dropped to -4C. An EFL referee carried out an inspection on Friday afternoon and confirmed the pitch was playable.
Further actions are being taken to protect the pitch, with temperatures overnight on Friday not forecast to drop below -2C which the covers have effectively guarded against already this week.
The match referee will carry out an inspection at 11am on Saturday (this was originally scheduled for 10am but moved back after consultation with the EFL) to ensure the pitch remains playable ahead of the fixture, and City will provide an update for supporters after this.
